28th Clarke County Historical Society meets, Grove Hill Senior Nutrition Center, 2:30 p.m.
Former Gov. Patterson will discuss his new book regarding his term as Alabama governor. He will also sign copies of his new book.

August, 2008
31st - Clarke County Historical Society meets, Grove Hill Town Hall, 2:30 p.m.
The curator of Maghee Farm, the site of the last Confederate surrender, is the guest speaker.

11th - Grove Hill Relay for Life; Clarke County Museum, 6 p.m.

26th - Clarke County High School Old Timers Reunion

26th - Author Ted Dunegan, formerly of Clarke County will autograph copies of his book, “A Yellow Watermelon”; Clarke County Museum, 2 - 4 p.m.

27th - Dedication of the Josiah and Lucy Martin Mathews Cabin; Grove Hill Town Hall, 2:30 p.m. Reception and tours will follow at the Clarke County Museum.

March, 2008

23rd - Historical Society Meeting; Grove Hill Town Hall, 2:30 p.m.
Speaker: Brent Fuller & Steve Kennedy of the Clarke County Living History Association
will discuss period costumes, plans for living history and membership.

February, 2008

24th - Historical Society meeting; Grove Hill Town Hall, 2:30 p.m.
Speaker: Susan Thomas will discuss the local folklore surrounding Southern food.

January, 2008

21st - Museum Closed Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday

27th - Clarke County Historical Society meets; Grove Hill Town Hall, 2:30 p.m.
Speaker: Jim Herod of the Grove Hill Writer’s Club will discuss the club’s play centered around the events at Ft. Sinquefield.
