Jimbo on Board the Nettie Quill by Henry Ford Harrison

Extended Description

Jimbo is both an adventure story and a learning tool. Initially, it tells of Jimbo taking his first paddlewheel riverboat ride in 1895. On board he meets Arthur, a deckhand, who teaches Jimbo about life on the river. The second half of the book includes a glossary of riverboat terms, a map of Alabama's navigable waterways, and photos and illustrations of 19th century riverboats at work. (Hardcover)
